Start of a good summer

Downeast is going great, definitely lots of boring moments sitting around for hours waiting for people to buy stuff...but oh well. (oh, and for those asking, yes I DO get a 20% family and friends discount :D but i can't over use it. meaning: no orders of 50 million shirts for each family, but if you do want some shirts, i can definitely get them for you and bring them down to California for whoever wants them)

I was hired at Subway, but after taking a pre-hiring drug test after my new manager didn't believe me when I told her I had never done drugs and/or drank alcohol, they said that they'd call me to tell me when I work...and I think that Downeast is just waiting back for me to tell me the hours I'll be working at Subway so she can fit me in. Hopefully, I'll get a call tomorrow 'cause I need to get workin'. My biggest hurdle to get over now is getting time off at Subway for California; I have a feeling they won't be as easy as Downeast.

Garin left today for his mission, so last night was the fun crying fest for me and all my friends as we said goodbye to him. It was really good, and I'm really excited for him 'cause of all the things he'll be able to do on his mission. Then my friend Marc is leaving in a couple weeks down to San Diego, California (woo! :D), and my friend Blake is leaving at the end of the summer. All the while at least 3 of my other friends are waiting on their calls as we speak. It's crazy. For someone who's used to hanging out with mainly guys, my friend-supply is running out. haha oh well

Things in Twin are finally starting to get going and better. The first month sort of felt like a major downward spiral in all aspects of life. My friend's college ward is way nice, so I finally found a good ward to go to. I'm finally getting a paycheck. Mom and I still have our momentary quarrelling, but it's at a minimum and we're having fun. And friends are finally getting over the first month home too, so not so many emotions flying everywhere with them. The best thing is that I'm finally getting back to the "me" that I talked about earlier, which is great! 'Cause it means that I'm hyper and happy more, and I shock Mom almost everyday when I ask for food like steaks and want to try fish. Today's horror for her was green beans. haha

To answer Jen's question about my goals: they're going well, not perfect, but better. I've decided to start reading at least one article in the Conference Report each Sunday and write about what I read in this journal that I've designated for spiritual insights. Also, I want to write in my normal journal at least every Sunday. So...hopefully those will work out :D

  1. You sound so good!!! Yeah, I'll just have a shirt in every color if you can do that. heehee just kidding

Enjoyed this post. I miss you!! LOL at the part about you eating fish and green beans. So the question that now remains is did you like either one? And that is kind hilarious and kind of pathetic that your boss wouldn't believe you about your morals--give me a break!!!

  2. I can't believe you actually tried fish and green beans:) Before you know it you will be eating sushi or something like that (actually I really enjoy suchi so you should try it). I hope you can make it to California and that subway won't get in the way. We would miss having you come for the fun. Besides if you come here you can find really good fish.
