On your mark..get set...Go!

Well, tomorrow marks the first official day to start moving/packing. Mom and I get to get up all bright and early in order to pick up their new house keys and get everything ready to move over there. Woo! haha Thankfully, I'll have my own little set of slaves when we pick up my 4 nieces from Twin on Wednesday. I'm SO excited to see them!! It's been WAY too long...basically a year. But from the pictures I've seen I can definitely tell that they're all growing up way too fast. Emma's a teenager and taking driver's ed right now...that in itself is telling me that I'm getting old. Weirdness... But it'll be way fun!...now I just need to figure out--other than all the packing and yard work they're helping out with--what fun things there are to do with 4 girls...I'm thinking a night on the town...well as much as is possible in Rexburg.

Anywho...I love being an aunt. And hopefully God doesn't strike me down for saying this, but of course I'm THE favorite aunt.. ;) Haha it's only 'cause I'm single and I still have energy to play with them. It's been fun. I love love LOVE the babies and toddlers and seeing all of their new experiences. But it's been interesting to figure out how to treat the ones that are actually getting older because I've been so used to having little ones all over the place. Thankfully, the older ones still consider me as their friend and not some out-dated "aunt." My eldest nephew talked to me today and was all excited about his new little girlfriend. Don't exactly love the idea of him having a girlfriend...but at least he talks to me about all of it. And thankfully he said, "she's a molly...and I like it!" so I'm ok with that.

I almost wish they could all stay little babies...it's a lot less to worry about. Now that some are in junior/high school it's a constant worry of who their friends are, do they have a testimony, are they making the right decisions, do they know how to handle things when they make the wrong decisions, do they know they're loved? and the list could go on and on. I better have all 37 of 'em for all eternity gosh darn it... :) I love them all to death. Forever wouldn't be worth it without them.

Anywho...I love my family. And one of the best parts of my life is being an aunt. :)

  1. You have THIRTY SEVEN? Holy Cow! That is awesome... I can't imagine my nephews or niece being old enough to be in high school. Just the fact that they are like 2 and 3 now is crazy to me. It is funny that we can feel old even though we are only twenty :) Good luck moving today!!!!
